Linkable Tri-Proof Light Installation Guide
Plan connectors, mounting and voltage-specific linking limits before ordering tri-proof lights for a warehouse or garage.
Are Tri-Proof Lights Linkable and Easy to Install?
Selected ShineLong tri-proof versions support linked installation and convenient connection access. The benefit depends on choosing the correct end cap, connector, cable and mounting arrangement before the fixtures reach the site.
Parkade documents screw-fastened and tool-free detachable end-cap options. Rancher documents linking connectors. Utilee and EcoMini II list linkable, tool-free features; these descriptions do not imply that every step of mounting and electrical installation needs no tools.
Review the Parkade connection options before finalising a garage or warehouse schedule.

Choosing Connectors for Linked Tri-Proof Lights
The connector determines how each luminaire receives power, carries control signals and joins the next fixture in a continuous run.
| Connection option | Typical use | Best suited for |
|---|---|---|
| Parkade screw-fastened end cap | Screw-fastened end cap with an IK09 configuration. | Projects that use a fixed end-cap connection. |
| Parkade tool-free end cap | Tool-free removable end cap with an IK10 configuration. | Projects that benefit from fast end-cap access. |
| 3-pin connector | Power linking for compatible Rancher and Parkade configurations. | Continuous lighting runs without dimming control. |
| 5-pin connector | Power linking and dimming for compatible Rancher and Parkade configurations. | DALI or 0/1-10V lighting-control systems. |
| US conduit option | Conduit connection on compatible US versions. | Installations that use conduit entry. |
Connection overview: A 3-pin connector carries power for linked runs. A 5-pin connector adds dedicated conductors for compatible dimming systems.

How Many Rancher or Parkade Luminaires Can Be Linked?
| Fixture power | Rancher EU · 230V | Parkade EU · 230V | US · 110V | US · 277V |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 W | 44 | 44 | 16 | 41 |
| 30 W | 29 | 29 | 11 | 27 |
| 36 W | 25 | / | 10 (Rancher) | 26 (Rancher) |
| 40 W | / | 22 | 8 (Parkade) | 20 (Parkade) |
| 45 W | 20 | / | 7 (Rancher) | 18 (Rancher) |
| 50 W | 18 | 18 | 6 | 16 |
| 60 W | 15 | 15 | 5 | 13 |
These maximum connection counts are calculated based on standard 1.0 mm² wire. The actual operational length also depends on the luminaires, connectors, cabling, voltage drop, driver inrush current, and circuit protection. Please use the values corresponding to the correct supply voltage.
For 60W EU versions, the maximum linking quantity is 15 at 230V. Mixed wattages and other supply voltages require a connection plan for the selected configuration.
A Practical Installation Sequence for Linkable Tri-Proof Lights
Match the Product Configuration
Align the fixture model, supply voltage, wattage, connector type, lighting controls and emergency function with the project layout.
Isolate the Electrical Supply
A qualified electrician should isolate the supply before mounting or wiring the luminaires.
Install the Mounting System
Use surface or suspended mounting accessories that suit the fixture and supporting structure. Set fixture spacing from the lighting layout.
Prepare the Connection Cable
For compatible EU Rancher and Parkade connector configurations, ShineLong recommends using 0.75–1.5 mm² solid conductors with a stripping length of 10–12 mm. Please refer to the terminal layout for the specific product version selected.
Connect Power and Controls
Connect line, neutral, protective earth and any dimming or emergency conductors to the designated terminals. Linked luminaires use through-wiring rather than an electrical series circuit.
Seal the Enclosure
Seat the gasket evenly, secure the cable gland, engage the connector fully and close the end cap so the enclosure remains protected.
Test the Completed Run
Restore power and test light output, controls and any emergency function. Keep the final linked run within its applicable circuit limit.
Installation note: Connection details vary by product version and destination market. The selected fixture’s installation instructions take priority for the final wiring arrangement.
What Information Helps Reduce Installation Rework?
- Building layout, mounting surface, mounting height and the approved fixture spacing.
- Supply voltage, maximum run length, cable specification and circuit protection.
- Wattage, number of luminaires per run and any mixed-load arrangement.
- Dimming, motion sensing, emergency operation and required conductors.
- Cleaning conditions, final sealing arrangement and maintenance access.
Choose the Rancher IP69K configuration and use the lighting calculator to separate fixture-quantity planning from electrical linking limits.

Linkable Tri-Proof Installation FAQs
Are ShineLong tri-proof lights linkable?
Linkable versions are available across the entire product range, offering tool-free connectivity and specific maximum interconnection limits based on voltage. Connector availability varies by model.
Does tool-free mean no tools are required for the whole installation?
No. Tool-free refers to quick access or connection features. Mounting, cable preparation, wiring, sealing and circuit testing still form part of a complete installation.
How many 60W Rancher or Parkade lights can be linked?
For 60W versions, the maximum linked quantity is 15 at 230V in the EU, 5 at 110V in the US and 13 at 277V in the US. Circuit, cable and driver-inrush conditions can reduce the final quantity.
Can a 3-pin connector carry the dimming connection?
A 3-pin connector is used for power linking, while a 5-pin connector supports both dimming and linking. The connector should match the lighting-control system, including DALI or 0/1-10V control.
Are linked luminaires electrically connected in series?
A linked run uses through-wiring, so each luminaire is connected in parallel to the supply. Series connection describes the physical run, not an electrical series circuit.
Can I mix wattages or add emergency models to a linked run?
Mixed wattages and emergency versions need a configuration-specific connection plan that accounts for the combined load, cable, connectors, supply voltage, control conductors and emergency permanent-live wiring.
Build a Faster, Better-Organised Lighting Run
Linkable tri-proof lights create the greatest value when the fixture, connector, cable route, mounting method and controls are planned as one complete system.
With the right configuration, contractors can create continuous lighting lines, reduce repeated connection work and keep warehouse, garage and industrial installations neat and efficient.
