What Must Be Checked Before Niche Installation?
It is necessary to check the size of the niche, whether the power is off, and the length of the wiring, etc.
A licensed electrician or qualified pool professional should complete the installation in accordance with local requirements.
- Niche Compatibility Check the Ø257 mm face, 91.3 mm fixture depth, fixing point and niche drawing before ordering. The niche is a separate installation component. Compatible with common pool light niches available on the market.
- Route the cable With power isolated, route the fixture cable through the conduit to the junction box. Keep at least 4 ft (1.22 m) of cable coiled behind the fixture for service.
- Wire the correct version Connect the AC120V fixture on a GFCI-protected circuit using the wiring diagram for the ordered model.
- Secure and submerge Seat the fixture in the niche and secure it with the specified pilot screw. Fill the pool until the light is fully submerged before switching on.
Place the junction box and electrical equipment as required by the project’s current local code and the supplied installation documents.

Safety Before and During Installation
Keep the installation manual with the project records and follow the applicable local electrical and pool rules.
Isolate power first
Switch off and verify the electrical supply before installation, inspection or servicing.
Never run dry
Do not energize the fixture until it is fully submerged. Operation out of water can cause overheating.
Do not modify the sealed unit
Do not disassemble the fixture, use a mains dimmer or splice the cable underwater or behind the niche.
Inspect before installation
Do not install a fixture with a cracked lens or damaged cable. A damaged cord requires replacement of the complete luminaire.

Does the 3-CCT model need a controller?
No dedicated RGBW controller is required. Use a wall switch to cycle between the three specified white-light settings.
Which color temperatures are available?
The current specification lists 3000K, 4500K and 6500K, with 4500K as the default setting.
What is the Nerion warranty period?
The current Nerion product specification lists a 3-year warranty. Ask ShineLong for the formal warranty terms with the quotation to confirm coverage, claim process and exclusions for your order.
Can this LED pool light be installed in an existing niche?
It may fit some standard wall niches, but compatibility must be confirmed. Check the niche drawing, fixing points and available depth against the Ø257 × 91.3 mm fixture dimensions. Send the niche details to ShineLong before ordering; fit is not universal.
Can the fixture operate before the pool is full?
No. The pool light fixture must be completely submerged before operation. Operating it out of water can cause rapid overheating and may permanently damage the fixture.
Can I replace a damaged fixture cable?
No. The installation manual states that the external flexible cord cannot be replaced. Replace the complete luminaire if the cord is damaged.
Can I specify a different cable length?
The current specification lists a 15 m standard cable and allows custom lengths. Confirm the required length and cable route before production.
Why is GFCI protection required for a 120V underwater pool light?
A 120V underwater pool light requires appropriate ground-fault protection in accordance with applicable electrical codes. GFCI protection helps reduce the risk of electric shock if electrical leakage occurs. Installation must follow the current NEC requirements, local electrical codes and the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction.
What is the maximum immersion depth for this LED pool light?
The current product specification lists IP68 protection and a maximum immersion depth of 5 meters (16.4 feet). Do not exceed the rated immersion depth.
